As an inclusive community choir we try to ensure anyone can come and sing with us, irrespective of how much they can afford. This results in a slightly complicated charging structure as follows :
REHEARSALS From October 2016 the standard sub is £4. If money is tight for any reason please pay what you can afford, anything from 50p to £3.50.
GIGS We do a lot of gigs in the community and this year I have to be a little more careful because community music is my living and we have so much fun doing so many gigs throught the year. Where appropriate the choir will charge a small fee for doing gigs in future and some of that income will come back to myself as the choir leader and some diverted to other charities or choir funds. Some gigs are really special charity events where no one gets paid and we also have purely social events too, to celebrate christmas and our choir birthday, end of year, that kind of thing. So a real mix of events to keep us happy and on our toes.
THE SSUBS FUND (Somerset Subs Fund) - an independent initiative supporting inclusive music projects throughout the county. It makes up the subs of those on low income or on benefits who are enjoying high quality music projects run independently and where there is no other external funding and where the project leader is deemed not to be earning enough from the project to make it sustainable. This is in the process of being setup properly this year and hopes to award its first small grants to a few small worthwhile music projects sometime in 2017. More details on request.
Anything that you pay above £4 per session will automatically be diverted to the SSUBS Fund.
